The peak of the annual Blomkest Appreciation Day event was the water fight between the local fire departments. Each of the contestants tries to spray the can (on a cable in the middle) to opposite sides at the same time. The first team to accomplish wins. Blomkest Fire Department did well and beat Willmar (the pros) a few times. Joseph is farthest to the left in this picture. He and his team mate gave some good competion to the others (10 minutes they lasted!) but they did not win either of the two times.

Joseph’s New Truck
Joseph bought a new truck from ALERT when we went down to see his graduation in May. It has a lot of power and can accelerate faster than most sports cars. It also gets 8-10 mpg

We’re back
Kraemers returned form Nebraska Friday mid-afternoon. After a quick unpack job, Abigail went to prep her horse and equipment for the show on Saturday. Joseph and Joshua drove the Suburban up to have the transmission looked at(overdrive went out on our trip). The kids went off to play, and Mom and Dad took a rest!
We had a wonderful time getting (re)acquainted with the Behrens’ side of the family (Kelvins’ biological father was Floyd Behrens). There was a dinner befor the funeral, a funeral reception, and another gathering at the home of John Ammon Thursday evening. John is doing well, considering how much he has gone through since Aunt Arlene became ill. Elsie Nelson and Lloyd (Bud) Behrens, the only two remaning siblings of the original seven, were both in attendance as well. Kelvin’s fanmily also had some extra time back at the motel to visit with Steven and Grandma Kraemer. Made for some late nights! We praise God for giving us the opportunity to see all these relatives at one location, and for the neighbors (Stadems) who “covered for us” while we were away…Thanks again!

Funeral Trip
We received word yesterday that Kelvin’s biological father’s sister just passed away. The funeral is Thursday (tommorrow) afternoon. Kelvin has been wanting to see his biological father’s side of the family for a while and this is a good opportunity to see them all at the same time.
We are leaving today (Wednesday) at noon after Kelvin has rested a bit and driving to Bassett, Nebraska (where the relatives live). Our whole family is going to the funeral. Even Steven and Delphia (Kelvin’s brother and Mom) are flying out. Many of us hope to return by Friday early evening, but we’ll see.

Happy 4th of July!
Happy 4th of July! We have nothing too exciting planned for the day. We will probably go to our church’s potluck celebration in the park or to a friend’s 4th of July celebration at their church. Kelvin has loadout the night of the 4th so we may not do anything fancy. We hope you have a good, safe and happy 4th of July!
