Joseph Update #3

As of 4:30 pm, Monday, Joseph is resting in ICU with relatively good vital signs. Here are some updates:

A comparison of the 2 CT scans shows improvement in his condition, meaning less blood in the body cavity and around the kidney. Surgery to remove the kidney is looking less eminent, and the surgeons view that as a last measure to save him from excessive hemorrhaging.

He running a slight temp, perhaps indicative of a bacterial infection in the blood that is in the body cavity outside of the blood vessels. He is on Tylenol, and antibiotics through the IV.

He is allowed to have a small clear liquids diet, which makes him slightly nauseous

His next test (hemoglobin) is ordered for tomorrow AM, a big change from every three, then every 6 hours. They must think he’s in good enough shape to “hold” with a count of 7.2 without ordering a transfusion.

Susan will likely go back for a short evening shift, and Kelvin will stay home to loadout turkeys all night. The neighbors are taking the kids to the Assemvblies of God church’s Fall Festival, as well as out to dinner. What a deal!

We trust in you, O LORD, we say you are our God; our times are in your hands. Psalm 31:14
