Joseph heads to Alaska

On May 26th, Joseph begins his flight to Bethel, Alaska to join some of his ALERT buddies as a Bible Camp counselor. One of the men, Joshua F., had done this last year and recruited Joseph and 2 other buddies, Cliff and Tim, to return with him for the next two weeks. They will be leading a survival camp, and some short canoe trips out of Russia Mission. The salmon are running on the Yukon, which tends to bring on the bears as well. Joseph says, “Bring on the adventures!” We’re sure he’ll have lots to tell when he returns. (though they say that someone like him may not want to return…! :D We pray God’s blessing and protection on them as they share their gifts with the campers.

First communion

On Maundy Thursday, I, Mark Kraemer, was given my first communion. Two weeks before that, I was given instruction by Pastor Todd. We made bread, and also cups that we would drink our wine in. I served my family communion that night, too. It was exciting and I’m looking forward to receiving communion often this year.:D

State Horse Bowl

This year our junior Horse Bowl team went to State. It was John’s very first trip to State. We lost our first game after 3 matches. We only had one loss left. We came all the way back to beat the team we lost to only to lose to them by one question in the championship Round. It was really fun. Our team got reserve champion at state and we are proud of that!:D
My tea mates were: Besty, Lisa, Emily, and Daniel. I also enjoyed being team captain and practicing with brother Mark and sister Abigail. RaeAnn was a great coach, too.
