Dog Project Year

Lots has happened for me, John Kraemer. One of the major things I did this year was 4-H Dog. 4-H Dog is a project that I attended this year for Dog classes and trainings.

I started out by going to a dog meeting class in April of this year. My leaders (Ron and Anita) talked about the upcoming events that were to happen in the Dog project. The 4-H classes I attended where obedience and showmanship. In Obedience, I had do make my dog(Katie) heel on a leash by my side and then make sit right next to me when I stopped. Other excercises where the stand for exam, recall, long sit and long down.

At the County fair I received a blue ribbon and at state I received a blue ribbon. In showmanship, I was supposed to make Katie stand when I stopped and kinda show her off to the judge. You’re supposed to be happy about your dog and know knowledge about dogs in general. Like, Where did my breed originat and Questions like that. I also receive a blue at county and at state.

Mark’s Fair

Wow! We need to keep up on our blog!

The Kandyohi County Fair was August 8-12, a long time ago! I, Mark kraemer, am telling you my story at the county fair.

Making a poster on the things in your body was great fun B). and especially when I won champion in health:>> (I call this my cheesey face!)

For my next project, aerospace, I made a booklet on military cargo planes. Amazingly, I got reserve champion! And I’m not even old enough to go to state yet! I had a great fair and I am looking forward to next year!

My Horse Year

Wow! Where did this summer go?! I guess I wasn’t on top of blogging my horse year so you’ll get it in one big “shabang.” We left off in March when I had just finished Horse Bowl. In May I attended the Kandiyohi annual Clinic on Saturday and the following day(Sunday) I helped lead the clinic worship service. June was filled with a show and tons and tons of schooling time. Keylee (my horse) and I were working at the level 5 of the training program, which ment flying lead changes. I had never done one on a trained horse so trying to TEACH a horse to do one;… the odds seemed impossible! Through lots of work and advice we accomplished it!!!:D It was a thriller!!
I went on to the county fair and ended up winning the “triple crown.” Meaning: I won grand champion in training, horse related and the Sr. horse showman. Since you can only take one trip to the state fair I took the training trip (which let 2 more people in our county take the other trips).
September 15-18 was the State 4-H Horse Show in St.Paul. I was to enter in seven classes, the first was training. Friday morning I prepped and went into the ring for the test. Keylee did excellent with the riding part and I won the class, making me the training level 5 champ in the state of Minnesota! The rest of the fair went well. All the rest of my rides were pleasant. I ended up receiving three other top ten finishes to close the summer.
While I maybe “done,” I still ride Keylee and I’m looking forward to what this next year will bring! -Abigail
